Prenatal Vitamins---what?!

So after doing some lurking on the introwebs and doing some research I have decided to start taking prenatal vitamins. I already knew they made your hair grow faster and your nails stronger, but I just kind of brushed off the info until I noticed people were all abuzz about them again.

I found out that "Folic acid is an important promoter of the body's processing of a substance called homocystine. Folic acid encourages the body to convert homocystine into compounds that help the blood vessels relax and protect the blood vessels' inner lining from damage by free-oxygen radicals.

In addition, folic acid is required for the production of serotonin, an important neurotransmitter (chemical messenger) that has been connected to mood. "

Knowing that my capillaries don't really do their jobs and that I have been less than my cheery, happy-go-lucky self for a while I figured I'd give it a go. I bought the store brand and started taking one a day and my mood has been amazing since and I feel really good. Which is weird bc I was already taking a multi everyday and eating right. Perhaps the extra folic acid really does make a difference.

Wait'll you're actually pregnant and go to the Dr. They give you perscription prenatals and they RULE too. But the best ones I ever found were at a health food store... actually I didn't find then my mother-in-law (God bless her) did and bought them for me. Then she told me that they were like $40!!! I couldn've DIED! But they really helped!
